Abdel joined Vistra in January 2024 as Managing Director and Global Head of Funds. He oversees Vistra's funds solutions, including strategy, product development, and client digital experience. Abdel leads the commercial, client relationship, and product development funds teams worldwide, collaborating closely with the marketing, technology, and operational delivery teams.

Abdel joins from State Street where he was most recently the Head of Private Markets in EMEA. He joined State Street in 2007 and held several senior management roles in both the US and Europe, focusing primarily on middle and back office operations and relationship management in the Alternative Investment Services unit. Prior to that, he was with Investors Bank & Trust starting in 1996 and held several management and leadership positions in operations, relationship management and audit.

Abdel holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance from the University of Central Florida and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. 

He is fluent in English and speaks French, Arabic, and Spanish.
